AniSnap ("we", "our", "us") provides a web application at ani-snap.com and an optional browser extension ("AniSnap Source Capture") that helps you track your anime and manga watching/reading progress. AniSnap is an independent tracking tool. We do not host, provide, or control any third-party websites you may visit, and we do not host any anime or manga content.
The AniSnap Source Capture extension runs on supported pages to detect whether the page is an anime or manga content page. When it detects one, it shows a button that lets you log your progress to your AniSnap account.
The extension only requests access to a curated list of supported sites declared in its manifest. Access to additional sites is requested optionally and only activates when you explicitly use the extension's popup to capture a page that is not already on the supported list. The extension does not read page content on sites you have not granted, and only acts on pages it identifies as relevant anime/manga content.
When you click the tracking button (or, for Pro users who have explicitly enabled background auto-sync, while you are actively viewing a supported page), the extension reads:
This information is sent to AniSnap's servers solely to update your watchlist/readlist. The extension does not collect your browsing history, keystrokes, or the content of pages you visit. Background auto-sync is a Pro-only feature that is off by default and can be turned off at any time.
The extension stores your AniSnap authentication token in Chrome's local extension storage
(chrome.storage.local) so you do not have to sign in repeatedly. This token never leaves
your device except when making authenticated requests to AniSnap's own API.
When you use ani-snap.com, we collect:
Data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore, Firebase Authentication, and Storage), subject to Google's privacy policy.
If you enable notifications, the extension registers a device messaging token with Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) and sends it to AniSnap so we can notify you when a new chapter or episode is detected for a series in your list. The token identifies your browser/device for delivery purposes only. You can disable notifications at any time in your browser settings, which removes the token.
AniSnap Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. When you subscribe, Stripe collects and processes your payment details directly — AniSnap never sees or stores your full card number. We store only your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference needed to manage your plan. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for billing terms.
Optional AI search and recommendation features send the text of your query (and, if you use image search, the image you provide) to the Google Gemini API to generate results. These requests are used only to return results to you and are subject to Google's privacy policy. If you supply your own Gemini API key, it is stored locally in your browser and used only for your requests.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers. We use the following service providers strictly to operate AniSnap:

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings page. After deletion, data is permanently removed within 30 days, except where we are required to retain limited records (e.g. payment records) by law.
Depending on where you live (e.g. under the GDPR or CCPA), you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly from Settings, or by contacting us at the address below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. Access to your data is enforced by Firebase security rules so that only you (and people you choose to share a public profile with) can read your library. Authentication tokens are stored in sandboxed extension storage and are not accessible to web pages.
AniSnap is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of AniSnap after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
